A: Not at all. I want to inspire other female Katara to know we can be more than broodmares. I want talk about me to reach the outer most reaches of the Galaxy, not just the Citadels. I want the enemy to know that I, A FEMALE, am coming for them.
Q: Well, I'm certain there's no one who questions your abilities, Zara. However, what of being a female? Have you ever had dreams of your own Bondmate and babes of your own?
A: You mean Jebediah?
Q: Well...it has been rumored that he has been assigned to you as your Guardian, and it's become the norm that the Council tends to bond Guardians with their charges.
A: Well, Jebediah and I both have our own dreams of the future, and neither of them include each other. He is amazing in his capacity, and has his own plans. For me to simply comply and allow the Council of Masters to Bond us would take that away from him. I don't know if I could just stand by and let them do such a thing.
Q: You know, Zara, in your answer just now, you never once mentioned what YOU want. Tell me, Zara, what do YOU want?
A: My biggest dream from my first memory was to be a Warrior with Jackson. I never once gave thought to the fact that I was a female, and such a thing would most likely not be possible. However, when the Skimtar attacked it changed our way of life, and my dream was realized. Now, please don't get me wrong, I would give anything to be able to go back in time and change what happened. I lost so much more than loved ones....( she faded off for a moment, then seemed to snap back suddenly)...Anyway, I became the Warrior I always wanted to become, and I have fought beside my brother on more than one occasion, it's been a dream come true, even though I had to live through a nightmare to get here.
Q: Have your dreams changed at all since Jebediah is now in the picture?
A: What I want seems to matter little. All I know is that I don't want Jebediah to lose his dream because of an order from The Council. I just want him to be happy.
Q: And what if you turn out to be his happiness?
(The question must have caught her off guard, because The Eternal Warrior blushed, her eyes batting rapidly as though she were fighting back tears.)
A: All I can say, is that I believe we are trusting The Ancient Magic with more than just unions.
